The Bridge Music Project is a non-profit 501(c)(3) based in Olympia, WA that specializes in teaching young people self-expression and important life skills through music creation.
Over the course of six weeks, The Bridge Music Project hosted a Merch Design Workshop at both Harbor Heights and Green Hill secured facilities, with the intention of giving student an opportunity to acquire entrepreneurial skills through fashion design, 3-D graphic design, and digital marketing.
In this workshop, students worked with a professional fashion consultant learning about the process of screen printing t-shirts, launching a clothing brand, and how to sell 10 of their designs. Students also got to experience working with a 3-D graphic designer, who turned their sketch drawings that started out on paper into the professional 3-D designs you see today.
The students final designs are now available for purchase and for every t-shirt sold, 100% of the net profits will be donated to 3 charities of their choosing: The Sentencing Project, The Gridiron Foundation, and the Pacific Islander Association of WA.
The Sentencing Project is a national nonprofit that works with Seattle advocacy and legal groups that run reform campaigns for the wrongly convicted in Washington State.
The Gridiron Foundation is a local nonprofit that works with underserved youth through sports, faith, and mentorship, helping them overcome challenges and become future leaders.
The Pacific Islander Association of WA is the states largest nonprofit serving Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities by providing advocacy, housing support, food justice, resource navigation, and cultural connection programs.
More than just clothing, these clothes represent purpose, craft, and the uplifting of communities through self-expression and entrepreneurship.
